This is Dr. Amina Holland, chief-scientist of the Sevantya, this log is being recorded from our exploration & research vessel, the Intrepid. I have managed to convince commander Vraugen and the other leaders of the importance of this research, especially now with all the eyes on the sudden appearance of the "Anomaly", as some of my colleagues are calling the gigantic space travelling object recently spotted beyond Barnard's Loop. If the Sevantya and it's crew are to survive these dark times, then we will need to seek the means to do so, and I'm confident that what we are doing here won't be in vain, as of the moment of this recording there has been no official word from any of the superpowers or the main news channels regarding the "Anomaly", clearly they don't want the populace to panic... but something is coming... and we have no idea what it is...
Now into the details of Expedition SRG-1... I made a plea to Commander Vraugen to command and lead this expedition and be deployed on-site with a handpicked team of my choosing, to collect, catalogue and study guardian artefacts, more especifically the Guardian Relics, and with the recent incident involving the Unknown Thargoid Pathogen and the death of four of our crew members, it is crystal clear that we need competent personal undertaking these missions, luckily for me, he has agreed, but with the terms that he would be our pilot, and I told him that as long as he leaves the science stuff for the science people then we are in agreement. Our current crew is:
- Tosh Vraugen / Pilot
- Amina Holland / Scientist
- Emily Sun / Scientist
- Olmar Blake / Scientist
- Dante Rollins / Security
Our destination is about 900 Ly from human space, we have analyzed the data we already had and compared it with other newer sources and we have found a suitable candidate for this expedition: System Synuefe NL-N C23-4, planet B 3. With Salvation and Azimuth massive campaigns to gather guardian artefacts, I thought that finding such a place would be almost impossible, and from the reports I gathered, almost every known ruin has been extremely damaged and pillaged in the process to retrieve the artefacts and fuel Salvation ambitions, but this planet... this is our crown jewel, as soon as the images from the recon probes returned, I was astonished:
This is the biggest of the four ruins and the one we will study for now, I decided to call it Site Sierra, our initial readings are also very promising, we have detected five Obelisk Clusters and three sectors of this massive structure are displaying some very significant energy signals, so it is very likely there is a high concentration of artefacts in these sectors, we also found several suitable landing zones for the Intrepid, but the one we picked seems to be on more stable ground and on a relatively easier access than the others... I can't help but wonder that millions of years ago, perhaps this structure was a space port, where thousands of guardians lived and worked... the shapes, the sizes, the patterns, it is all so similar to what we humans do... the craftsmanship in the structures and the artefacts... it is simply incredible... Well... enough of poetry, we are here on a mission, so continuing... due to our somewhat limited vessel we can only extract 28 samples of Guardian Relics before we have to return to the Sevantya, ideally we would want to gather as much as we could but for now we have decided that this amount should do... For now, Vraugen and the other captains believe we are just interested in the guardian aspect of this research, but we really need to know what is going on with these "Unclassified Relics"... we have a very limited supply at the Sevantya, but more of them and from different regions could provide different results... I have yet to discuss a new expedition into thargoid territory to charge the artefacts, but I'm sure that commander Vraugen will see reason, and with Professor Palin and the Engineer Ram Tah also looking for them, I see no reason to also not share the artefacts and even cash in some credits... Right now they are the best minds we have available to look into what is going on with these hybrid relics and what occurred in HIP 22460, and one thing is for sure, the "Anomaly" is coming... Is it a thargoid mothership? The so called Far God? An oversized comet? We have no idea, but it is heading our way... and VERY fast... As I finish this log here is the latest image from our recon drone, time to hop into the suit and go to work... the boys are already scouting with the SRV and the sooner we collect these relics the sooner we will be back to human space... Dr. Amina Holland, signing out.
