Cmdr. BVit's logs: New ship, new friends.

I love the Bluebird. She's been my ship for longer than any other, and she's always done good by me. A very well balanced ship, capable of doing any kind of job. But as you all know, combat is more my thing. Recently, I got a promotion within the Federal Auxiliary Navy. I'm now a midshipman, which I'm quite proud of. Not that I'm a proud member of the federation or anything. It's more like a 'scratch my back and I'll scratch yours' situation. They give me some arbitrary ranks, and all the perks that come with it and I'll do some work for them now and then. Chances are it was all work I was going to do anyway, so it's a win-win. This promotion entitles me to buy a Federal Dropship.I've had my eye on one of those for a while now. The feds don't trust easy though, so by the time I had the rank to buy that ship I was already decently on my way towards that python. Now, as much as I do love the bluebird, I wanted a change of scenery. I stored away the Bluebird and bought a shiny new Federal Dropship, and still had enough money left over to outfit it. I decided to name it the Warthog. It's slow as a slug with a cramp, and it's the least agile ship I've ever been in, but I love the fire power. I even have a large Plasma Accelerator on it! I'm not the best shot, but it feels great when that ball of purple death collides with an enemy ship.
Being so slow, it's harder to take down some of those more nimble ships. I find myself having to give more power to my ship's engines than usual to get a lock on my targets. To help with that, I joined up today with Commanders Xeknos and Lordpsymon. Together, we winged up in a HazRES in the Qa'Wakana system, the same place that Coragon and I were at the other day. Splitting bounties three ways might not be the most efficient way to earn money, but we took on some larger ships than any of us would alone, and we saved more than a few miners from dying in a ring in the middle of nowhere. It was a nice time. We couldn't do it forever though, we're all busy people these days. But I still look forward to the next time!
