Commander's log. Text. 5 Apr 3302, 15:48."This is it. If I take one more step, it will be the farthest away from home I've ever been."
I've finally reached the first step on a long journey down the road. I am nearing the end of the WREGOE sector, which extends from somewhere around X = 200 Y = -1000 to X = 1,200 Y = 200. I have discovered over 40 systems so far, and plan to explore many more. I'm still brimming with excitement of exploration, and I am about to be the farthest away from home I've ever been. 1000 lightyears.
First couple of days have been uneventful. No super ridiculous systems, no earth-likes. A couple water worlds, many bodies full of primitive life, but no earth-likes yet. My wonderful Anaconda whom I've dubbed "Oculus" is still working at maximum capacity. I've been taking extremely detailed logs which I will publish soon. It's literally been horribly uneventful. Probably the most excitement I've had in these first 1000 LY is nearly crashing into a planet's rings. Fortunately, as it should, my emergency automated protocols engaged and pulled me out of supercruise, damaging my ship. Despite the fact that I was out, I was a mere 400 LY out at the time, so I decided to bring the Oculus back to an Alliance shipyard to repair the damage done.
Coming back out, I took a little break and just relaxed in my recreational wing for a couple days. Yes, I have a recreational wing... A small section of my ship designed with the sole purpose of staving off what everyone calls "space madness". A couple classic films, some pool, an actual pool, a tiny gym of mine, and most of all a basketball court.
Don't judge me. Its an Anaconda with a lot of empty space.
After a couple days of relaxation, with the Oculus soaking up the fuel and basking in the warming radiation from a nearby A class star, I set out again... Only to be stopped at this 1000 LY mark. I understand why Samwise Gamgee from the Lord of the Rings had to literally stop in his tracks. This is truly where I explore the great "beyond"!
Here we go.
