Are we the baddies?

Captain Soulman...23rd Dec 3305.My homestation is located in the Lembava System, Goldstein Station. A buzzing station, making a living off miners and headhunters. It was a normal day, I checked the missionboard as usual for the odd deliveryjob to some hunk o' junk in the nearby systems when a new type of mission peaked my interest: "Special mission" it only said. Somebody needs to be taken out.
"Fair enough" I thought to myself, propably just another pirate leader or traitor to the Federation that needed to be taken care of. Without reading much more of the discription I headed to the neighbouhring system and scanned the beacon.
Target located...
A quick supercruise, suddenly...mission updates.
Target spotted. 7 Civilian vessels that needed to be destroyed. They were unarmed, sidewinders, cobras, the odd viper.
I was reluctant to deploy my hardpoints. This must have been a mistake. The Federation wont have had civilians murdered in cold blood.
I scanned the small ships...yes...unarmed, just carrying medical supplies. But then a small detail struck me. "Blue moon mining corp"...they were the rivaling company of the Lembava Gold State Corp. which hired me.
I looked back into the contract and saw it. Blue moon had an epidemic in some of their mining stations and wanted to protect their workers with the medicine, so Lembava Gold State Corp. needed that to stop happening. It was too late for me to pull out tho. With tears in my eyes I deployed my hardpoints and opened fire on those civilian vessels. I turned the radio off. The screams and pleading to cease fire were hard to listen to. Finally after a few salvos from the multicannons and lasers, there was only silence again, and a whole lotta debris.
What have I become to murder a few civilians for some credits?
When my employee heard the news of the successfull mission, they were very satisfied, tho I dont know if I will ever see them in the same light again. Or even my beloved Federation.
