I think I'm finally figuring things out.

I've been a Commander now for a few years. Maybe not full time, but still a Commander all the same. Sometimes life got its claws into me and pulled me away from the black, sometimes I lost confidence in myself and walked away on my own. Each time, I still felt the call to get back out there. Lately, I've had more time than ever before to explore, to learn, to try to actually make my way in this big, scary galaxy, and it's been thrilling. Well, maybe thrilling is a bit strong. However I describe it, I'm glad I've had this chance. I'm finally starting to make some headway, to learn how to do things, and be effective. I can't, however, go without giving some serious credit to my new squadron. The Errant Knights, Commanders flying for the Errantry Alliance of Narvert. I found them a few months ago when I happened across the broadcast of a Commander by the name of Kyle Donovan. His show reignited my interest in flying, and the support of the Errantry members have kept it from going out. If it wasn't for them, I probably would have walked away again, not to return for who knows how long.
I'm still learning. I'm still figuring things out. There's a lot going on, and I'm still scared of making a mistake. That said, you can't learn if you never make a mistake, right? As much as my own neuroses and anxieties rebel against that thought, I think I'm getting closer to accepting it.
I've finally started making contact with some Engineers. The first step into actually doing something worthwhile as a Commander. Felicity Farseer was the first. I've got leads on a few more, but haven't managed to meet their requirements quite yet. I'm working on it. I'm learning.
