Install Taipan Ship Launched Fighters (SLF) for your crew member.
This is a shield tank build if you loose your shields you will be destroyed so guardian shield reinforcements are very important. Here is a guide explaining how to Unlock Guardian Modules.
Notes:
Weapon positions are important, a beam with thermal vent on top and bottom to vent heat and pluse lasers so equal damage is dealt to ships above and below your ship meaning there are no blind spots. Have all weapons on one fire group and weapons set to fire at will, while in your ship you can find this option in the right panel - ship - functions - turret weapon mode. Use shield cell banks (SCB) to replenish your shields after the first wave. The thermal vent experimental on the beam lasers will remove heat from your ship when they hit a hostile ship so your modules dont get heat damage during SCB spinups. Point defence positions are also important to stop hatch breaker limpets stealing your cargo without cargo your run is over because pirates will no longer aggro you because you have nothing they want.
Auto Pilot Bounty Hunting Instructions
Find a high Resource Extraction Site (RES) they are persistent mining locations within asteroid fields that occur on planetary rings. These show up in your navigation panel, they are points of interest in the filters and should be on by default. Before you leave the station to go to the high RES make sure you have a crew member active for the SLF, report crimes are on and weapons are set to fire at will. Get 8 tons of valuable cargo like gold or tritium to attract pirates.
Go to a high RES and drop in on it. Deploy harpoints, set 3 pips to systems and 3 pips to weapons, deploy fighter set it to defend, Face the RES marker 4k - 5k away from it, hostile ships normally get behind your ship so it does not make much difference which way you are facing. Turn off engines so you do not run out of fuel! A pirate ship will approach you then scan your cargo hold once it detects your cargo it will start attacking you. You do not need to target hostile ships with your weapons set to fire at will they will do all the work for you. Be aware during first wave of ships this should be the hardest fight you will have to fend off then after that use SCB to refill shields if needed. If your SLF has taken damage to its hull during the first wave of pirates you can destroy it so you have a 100% hull SLF. The Type 10 Defender build can still protect itself if the fighter is destroyed.
Last Thoughts:
Always do your own testing so you dont meet the rebuy screen. During one test my ship or fighter must of hit a system security ship after a few hours which turned hostile so that is a possibility also some missions send ships after you so in some situations you can become overwhelmed when you first jump into the RES because they jump in after you. These situations are very rare but always a possibility.
