Log entry, 22 Oct 3306For the last months my focus has been on the new mobile base. TFCS Ancient of Days is the name we gave to our fleet carrier. Recruiting a crew and outfitting the ship with various services has taken some effort but things are starting to look good now. Not only is the ship operational but we have effectively ran few anti-xeno operations in both Pleiades and With Head Sector. Sheldon Bush is captain of the bridge crew and is the head of Operations team. Malani Miranda runs the redemption office and is also the head of intelligence team. Arina Ortiz sees over the commodity market and runs the research team. She has really done good work in selling and buying goods even if we're usually not parked at the busiest systems in the galaxy. And what a wide collection of Thargoid samples she has gathered already.
Last week Pilot Federation called in alert at Witch Head for increased presence by the Thargoids. Fortunately we were already parked at Haki so we could recon the situation and start interception operataions immediately. I focused mostly on hunting Cyclops' with good old Abaddon. I mangaged to down 8 of them during the week long operations. But one of them proved to be unusually tough. When I was exerting its second heart I got hit by the lightning hard. Canopy blew up immediately and some debris hit me in the chest. I broke few ribs and almost blacked out. Put the adrenaline kept me going and a continued the fight. Hitting the Thargoid itself without HUD isn't too bad as the target is big. But shooting the swarms down with flak was a challenge. But I was able to do it and after four hearts were destroyed interceptor was ready to be put to sleep.
After that mission I had the doc see me through. Besides the broken ribs my heart was acting up. It may have been some damage caused by the debris doc said but I think it's just the stress of getting into these close-call situation far too often. Now that the Witch Head attacks have been stopped once again I'm thinking of maybe having some break of fighting. It should do me good. Still we will probably remain stationed at Witch Head and continue supporting other commanders that uphold the status quo.
