Learning to Fly

Log entry, 14 Feb 3307Lately there's been a lot news going on in my life. New year, new baby, new home at Ienpalang and so on. Now that we're back at Haki doing AX business as usual I was thinking of learning new ways to fly. AX community has talked a lot about this cold orbiting technique where you fly FA off around a target while popping heat sinks. That suppsosedly throws Thargoids off with their targeting.
Today I decided to to test this cold orbitting with Abaddon. Sure enough I was able to start the manouver and everything seemed OK. Targetting the heart takes some practice but it's not too bad. What is more difficult is controlling the distance to the interceptor. I couldn't keep my distance and ended up eating a lightning. No problem, I can take one of those from a Cyclops. But I was too eager to down the bastard that I kept fighting and ended up eating another one. At that point all systems started screaming failure and at that point I had to abandon ship. Bye bye LIN-06, you were a fine vessel.
Rescue team hauled my ass back to Ancient. I got a lot of heat about reckless flying and I deserved it. Knowing when to disengage is needed when flying these small fighters as you don't have a lot of room for error. Engineers already kitted me a new ship. LIN-07, 7th iteration of the Abaddon. Maybe with this one we learn to do the dance of death around the murder flower.
