Rescue

Being stuck on a planet in civilized space isn't that bad. If I need something, I can usually get it, even if I have to beam signals at a passing patrol. I'd gotten used to the regular Stardreamer patrols flying over head, a couple times a day. One of them even landed once, to see what I was doing, and offered me a ride to the nearest station. If I wanted a ride, I could have just called an Apex. I'm not leaving my ship unattended in its current state. Anyway, I had been taking a break from the grind of repairs when I spotted an unusual ship heading toward me. The last pirate who tried to take advantage of my situation got an L-6 through his cockpit. That was a bit of a boon. Managed to pull a couple of working power regulators from what was left of his ship after it became part of the nearby scenery. Anyway, it became clear pretty quickly that this guy wasn't a pirate when I recognized the Pilot's Federation livery. The PF rep landed nearby and greeted me. What follows is the audio transcript:
Rep: "Iridium Nova, right?"
Me: "Yup. 13 days. Took you guys long enough."
Rep: "We've been busy."
Me: "Apparently."
Rep: "Alright. Let's see what we've got here."
With that we got to work. With the equipment in his service ship and a few repair limpets, restoring my ship's communications suite and repairing the rest of the damage took less than a couple of hours. The comms suite was the main thing. With that functioning and full access to the GalNet servers, it was a simple matter to re-reg my ship and get flying again. I thanked the PF rep as he departed. It was good to be back in space again. Back to work...
