It's an old word, from ancient Earth. It means "death spirit". Death is something I've thought about quite a lot lately, understandably. And by chance here I find myself in this interestingly named system. Here I have also found an Imperial faction which upholds ancient traditions, some of which were also the inspiration for the traditions of the Shadowstar Imperium. Despite the morbidity of the system's name, this appears to be one of the most populated systems in the galaxy. By luck, I seem to have found a safe haven here, in an old monastery, modelled after the ancient traditions the system's founders had at heart. Unfortunately, it appears they are a dwindling people, their society now falling to the hordes of pirates and thieves that have come to infest this once glorious place.The monasteries and their dojos are all that remain of the honorable clan which once brought justice and glory to this system, hunted by the raiders and anarchists who have established their own corrupt version of lordship over the city centers. But those who remain still take in outsiders who prove worthy and teach them their ways. And so here I am, seeking clarity and redemption, under a false name, though I think the sensei knows I am lying...
