Someone has been playing pranks on me. The latest was a fun little escapade that cost me some much needed sleep last night. I woke in the middle of the night to a fire burning in the corner of my dorm. When I ran to fetch water, I was greeted by a ghastly sight: a fellow student partially fused into the wooden duckboard near the well. It was as if they had fallen through the ground but stopped halfway in. They were dead and unmoving. But, as I approached, the image faded and disappeared. Bewildered, I went ahead and filled a bucket with water, and noticed a small black cat sitting atop the well. Normally I wouldn't have even mentioned this, it's an Earthlike world after all, fauna is a common sight here, but when I returned to my dorm to put the fire out, I found that it was already out. And there was that little black cat, sitting where it had been. When I approached, it bounded away into the darkness.In the morning's light, I could see that the spot where the fire had been was undamaged. It was all holograms. I'm going to have to find out who's been hiding a hologram projector. We don't allow technology unless it's been approved by the Sensei and I don't think he would let someone just have a hologram projector. Especially if it's who I think it is...
