Form IR0808
Incident Brief:
Commander Iridium Nova (victim) was found comatose at the scene of incident 128723-156N by PFN1263, who was operating in accordance with shadowing protocol R6. R6 was assigned by operator PFN1010 as detailed in Operation Declaration 105239-156N, in response to incident 128719-180SC.
Incident Description:
Victim was discovered at facility Jelani Biochemical Consulting in the Tian system. Victim's suit systems were in emergency low power mode at time of recovery. Victim appeared to have sustained near-terminal shock from unknown source and was incapacitated as a result. Suit was able to sustain life functions. Victim is currently hospitalized and comatose in recovery quarantine.
Ranger Notes:
During the course of O105239-156N-R6, we determined that CMDR Iridium Nova had come across information (article 156N-4) that led her to investigate facility Jelani Biochemical Consulting, while staying at the Golden Dragon Monastery in the Shinigami system. Once her emergency ping was received by the Remlok network in Tian, I was immediately dispatched with a support team to recover the body. Upon arrival, the facility was observed to be non-functional and unpowered. There were multiple dead bodies in the location, but no signs of violence. Additionally, sensors detected multiple unidentified humanoids but could not get a fix on their locations. No living beings were observed by rescue personnel during the recovery, however several members of the team reported anomalous experiences, recorded in article 156N-5. Footage downloaded from the CMDR's suit camera is still being reviewed by information control but presents additional questions to O105239-156N. Exact cause of incapacitation is undetermined. CMDR's suit showed signs of minor electromagnetic disruption, which is believed to be the cause of the corruption of the stored data, suit camera footage, and camera drone footage, but is not enough to explain incapacitation. Current hypothesis is biological contaminant, most likely viral. Hazmat procedures were enacted by recovery teams only after initial surveillance had been conducted, due to lack of atmosphere or any biologically conductive medium. Facility had already been depressurized prior to arrival of recovery team. Method of infection remains unclear at time of writing. PFN1942 and PFN1720 are investigating this anomaly further. Recommend containment team or purge team be dispatched immediately to prevent outbreak. Also, see report 7328-9D for results of analysis of data recovered from the facility. As per procedure 17F, I and my team have entered quarantine.
