Tide of Battle

15 Feb 2022Iridium Nova
Day 3 of the Haiden Conflict, or as the Haiden Organization have been calling it, the Haiden Massacre. What's left of the Organization has mostly withdrawn from the conflict, leaving the remainder of the fighting to their mercenary units and their Federation supporters, whom I suspect are almost entirely made up of the anti-Canonn group I've been trying to track down. I've even spotted known criminals among the ranks of the enemy, shedding light on just how desperate their fight has become. I'd feel sorry for them if they didn't harbor such a grudge against me and such luddite beliefs towards my Canonn friends.

As for massacre, well, that's what every loser says when they're being outmatched and outgunned in a war. In the end, there won't be enough of them left for history to remember them as anything more than a footnote. It's likely that after the war is over, what's left of the Haiden Organization will try to rally, maybe pulling in more Federation support, but at some point the Feds are going to cut them off. The only thing keeping them in the fight so far is this mysterious anti-Canonn group, at least that's what it looks like from where I'm standing.

Ultimately, it seems it won't matter. The Canonn is here to stay, and after the collateral damage is repaired and industry rebuilt, the Haiden system will become a cornerstone in the economic support for the Canonn mission to continue to study and solve the mysteries of the universe.
