The war in Haiden is over, for now. After suffering total defeat by the Canonn, the Haiden Organization has managed to negotiate a cease fire, retreating to Hui Keep to lick their wounds and try to recover something from this conflict. With the system administration office on Searfoss Enterprise now occupied by Canonn personnel, system control has shifted. A livery contractor has already been called in to repaint the station.That's all well and good, the sort of thing that happens after a war. But there's more going on than it seems. I've been snooping on Haiden Organization business at Hui Keep and it seems they are calling in favors. Apparently some of their war support never arrived due to corrupted data transmissions, most likely a result of sabotage. Now that's been resolved, they've activated these additional forces and are bringing them into the system. Presumably they are going to use them to counterstrike and attempt to take back system control. But it'll have to be a pretty involved operation if they hope to have any real chance of victory. Still, they're not as bad off as I expected. I guess their benefactors and allies have more at stake here than originally appeared. It will be interesting to see what happens next, though I can't guess at what kind of timetable they have for this campaign.
It's not a huge surprise, wars usually do go through a number of phases like this, as losers retreat, rest, and prepare to try to take back what they lost. It eventually ends when they've either lost everything or unconditionally surrender. But because of the external influences and intervention from unknown factors, this particular back and forth could throw some curve balls my way. I still think these guys are going to need a miracle if they have any hope of winning anything back from the Canonn.
