Earlier today I was contacted by zer0paritY, a hacker notorious in Pathamon who has been working with the Dogs of Lore for the last year or so. Apparently they moved to Marsonna when things started heating up there and have been operating out of the bunker at Ameziane Agricultural Plantation. They had heard about my incident earlier and sent me some intercepted communications they had caught directed at someone in orbit of Marsonna 1A at the time of the incident. Unfortunately, the intercepts were somewhat disrupted since zer0 was not the intended target, but there is enough there to be of interest, as follows:"...operatives on 1A and 1B. Remember, there will be a delay of about 2 seconds due to distance. It shouldn't be a problem, but you need to hurry. If she comes back you'll only have a narrow window of opportunity to extract the operatives."
This confirms my suspicion that someone was anticipating my arrival and wanted to buy time for some kind of op. Turns out it was to do with both planets. Too bad there's no clue about what they were actually doing. DOL personnel on both planets haven't reported anything out of the ordinary yet. Following up from that, it was time to check in on a listening post I had set up in the system during my original Pathamon job. I managed to pick an interesting little intercept out of the usual garbage:
"Those nerds got a hold of the virus. Apparently she called them in. Now they're hanging around and causing problems."
I suspect this is about the Canonn investigators. Yes, it seems a couple of them did hang around for a bit. Wonder what kinds of problems they caused? Knowing them, they can create a really bad day for people when they want to. This one made me smirk. And then there was this little gem:
"Apparently one of them is conducting some kind of Thargoid experiment in Sol. Don't ask me why."
From the same unnamed sender as the last one. I have a feeling this refers to one CMDR Node_, a rather notorious higher-up in the Canonn. I think perhaps whoever was responsible for that intrigue on Marsonna 1A and 1B, isn't too keen on the Canonn. I still want to know what they were up to, and why they were so worried about me, specifically, interfering. In other news, Marsonna is stabilizing now under Alba Rotam, but the civil protection initiative is being spearheaded by local administrators, and seems entirely independent of the actual squadron. I suppose the squadron may simply not care, as long as the system is firmly in their grip. Though, given the quiet on their comms channels, I'm not sure they even noticed. I've seen the way things are going and the civil protection squads are efficient, but brutal. I suppose that's to be expected from this type of government, but I don't envy the civilians.
