Taranis

After receiving reports of Black Flight ships spotted in the Uncenii system, I decided to pause my investigation in Chukchan to check it out. I proceeded to stake out the system for several hours, looking for the reported ships. There's really not much in the system. Unfortunately, if Black Flight was there, they're long gone. I found nothing to connect them to the system, but at least now I know a bit more about the system, and specifically YKE Technologies, than I did before. After that I decided to continue to postpone the Chukchan investigation on account of the projected arrival of Taranis. And with that I headed to Swahku. With a quick stop in Pathamon to check in on the Dogs of Lore, I noticed that one of the Stargoids is visible from Klein Survey. I took a picture of it and left it on their bulletin board. Just in case they weren't already aware.
Arriving in Swahku was surreal. Near the drop point was a wing of fellow commanders, likely AXI pilots sitting on their hands watching the skies and waiting. The system is full of AXI carriers, clustered around the arrival stars and the inhabitated planets in the subsystem a fair distance away. Chatter in the system was plentiful but not as noisy as you'd expect given the sheer amount of traffic in the system. The vibe is one of anticipation and uncertainty. Plenty of AXI pilots ready to put their skills to the test, scientists measuring the speed changes and theorizing about the fact that this thing is giving off a very cold signature despite being bright enough to compete with nearby stars, and sightseers trying to find the best places from which to view this impending historical event. Among others, I'm sure. I don't know what I'd consider myself. To be honest, I'm not even sure why I'm here. Seems like a bad place to be, given what happened to the Kingfisher. Yet here I am.
Like a moth to a flame.
