Corrupt System Authority
20 Dec 2015Veyder
Calmly entering the office of the Wing Commander"Sir, we have prisoners in the detention facility, I think you'll be interested in them,” said Commander Dobermann as he adjusted his flight suit. Before Veyder could respond, Dobermann chimed in, “They are system authority officers, whom were caught robbing and murdering miners in the extraction site around Phiagre 4.” “Are you certain of the charges commander?” said Veyder. “Yes sir, all findings have been confirmed from the flight records and forensic evidence from their ships as well as telemetry from our patrol, it seems that they have been busy,” replied Dobermann.
“How many of them?” Veyder asked. “Only two… but they are not talking sir,” Dobermann responded. “Bring them to me; I will deal with them myself Commander,” growled Veyder. “At once Sir,” said Dobermann as he entered a transfer request into his pad.
Moments later a security team escorts two system authority officers to the Wing Commander’s office. The officers fit the stereo type for corrupt system authority, shined boots, short and neat haircuts with an air of self-importance and arrogance.
As Veyder stood, to receive the prisoners, the senior system authority officer addressed Veyder directly. “Who the fuck are you?” “Huh?” “Do you have any idea who we are?” “You have no right to detain us.” Veyder stood silent while the officer continued his rant. “I am talking to you, tin can, are you deaf, mute or just dumb?” shouted the officer.
“Allow me to open our argument,” said Veyder in a mechanical and intimidating voice as he pulled his pistol and shot the junior officer in the head to the horror of the senior officer and security detail. “Justice, Honor, Service… do those words mean anything to you anymore?” Veyder said as he calmly walked around his desk.
“Holy Shit, you’re nothing but a murdering vigilante who hides behind a mask, what do you know of the law and who are you to judge me?” The Officer answered.
“This is going to get interesting.” Dobermann whispered to the security detail who stood frozen in shock. Veyder stood inches away from the officer, the only sound heard is from Veyder’s respirator. An audible gulp is heard from the Senior Officer. Veyder grabs the officer by his throat and a mechanical whine is heard as his suit servos work to hoist the officer off the ground.
“You lost your right to question me the moment you chose murder over justice; Now who you are working with?” Demanded Veyder. The officer’s face now changing color from oxygen deprivation relents and gives the names of several System Authority personnel. “Is there anything else you’d like to share?” asked Veyder. “I’m Sorry…” replied the Senior Officer in between gasps for air. The audible crunch of cartilage is heard as Veyder drops the Officer’s now lifeless body to the ground. “Apology accepted Lt Baker.” said Veyder.
“Inform the Chancellor of our findings and investigate the rest, if they are guilty execute them, no exceptions.” Veyder said. “Gladly Sir,” replied Commander Dobermann as he watched the security detail remove the bodies.
