Challenging the misinformed

Mies Van Der Rohes Claim - MainaniI had listened to the words of Hadrian Duval, the so called "rightful heir" to the Imperial throne. And while I couldn't care less about who sits on what chair, as that's really all a throne is: a fancy chair, I do care about what happens to humanity as a whole. I grew up in the Federation, on Earth, and joined the Pilots Federation flight academy at a time in life when most are settled into a career of some sort. However, I have found a profitable business in the Empire, and now call Niflhel my home, even though I am currently working in Mainani.
His words all seem hollow to me, like his statements are all the writings of Imperator Mordanticus. And he couldn't be more wrong. The Thargoid menace is not one that the Empire can face alone. We need allies, and we're not going to find those allies by retreating into a shell like a box turtle, and closing borders. We have to work with the other powers in the galaxy to ensure that humanity as a whole survives this threat.
As such, I challenge Hadrian Duval to do this: Get in that ship of yours and fly out to any Imperial, Federation, AND Alliance system that has been ravaged by the Thargoids. Look into the eyes of the survivors: The children who have lost parents, The parents who have lost entire families, spouses who have lost the love of their lives. Then, in your own words, not those of the Imperator, tell us if you think this is something that the Empire can face alone. Because I can bet, once you do that, your mind will change.
What I'm trying to say is, if you think the Empire needs new leadership, PROVE yourself to be a leader. Don't be the puppet of the Imperator. Use your experience as a Commander, and be the leader that the Empire needs. Don't let one retired Duke rule from the shadows. Leaders aren't born, they're made, and that comes from experience. Prove yourself a true leader, and not a puppet to a shadow.
