ARCHIVED LOG #2: Neutron Field

29 Dec 2015Kaparov
FSD malfunctions every other jump, takes anywhere from 1-5 restarts to get her going. Crack's getting bigger. There was another collision, too, so I think something's wrong with the thrusters. Must be gradual wear and tear, heat damage, minor things from landings.

I don't think I'll make it home at this rate, but it's certainly humbling. Will anyone ever find this? I doubt it. If you do, I'll try talking some more about who I am. Just so someone or something might know. I've been out here for awhile, navigating the neutron stars, and I feel selfish for wanting to talk about myself in my final logs. But the odds of this being found are low, and all my data's encrypted in the box as well - consider it yours if you find it. Ought to be over 60,000,000 credits. Maybe you're the type to listen to a fellow explorer, if nothing else. I'll start tomorrow.

Update: We've had some collisions with celestial bodies. I swear I'm seeing things. That cat, those... that bobblehead. It talks. I'm trying to listen to the radio, trying to listen to anything but the buzz and beeps, but the sound of scanning. They all sound like songs. Like directions. I need to go home. People have made it further than me, but if I can survive this, I'll be a better man. I just can't die. I'm so close, but so far away.
