From Trader to Salvager

It seems a bit of a downgrade for an Imperial Duke with his own personal Cutter to side-shift professions from lucrative, luxury trading to what many would consider the bottom-feeders of the galaxy. However, there's something to be said from taking a step back from the politics of the Empire and getting out there to do a good deed, plus it reminds me of my old freelancing days.Sirius Corporation have done some good work for galactic exploration and the expansion of human influence beyond the Core Systems, and it seems they've turned their hand towards humanitarian, scientific endeavours. Highliner Antares was a terrible loss of life and in 50 years we haven't been able to figure out where she ended up or what happened to her. The eggheads at Sirius are hoping to finally answer that question. There's a lot of wreckage throughout the area surrounding their research facility on Procyon, I've seen wrecks of Imperial, Federal and unaligned ships, everything from Asps to Imperial Clippers... even the burnt out husk of an Anaconda and a Federal Corvette plummeting to the lifeless rock below...
Could it all be one connected series of events? Doubtful, humanity's thrown enough junk into space over the years that picking through the remnants for the remains of one lost ship feels like a fool's errand. However, that doesn't stop me from hanging up my Navy stripes for a few weeks and taking out into the black in a newly purchased Keelback, modified for both space and surface search and retrieval ops. I may do this more often if the pressures of political and navy life ever get on top of me again.
Still, the Federals don't take kindly to me flying around in their space, but I'm not planning on antagonising anyone. We're all citizens of the galaxy, in spite of our differences of opinion and political affiliations. Let it never be said that an Angel in service to Her Imperial Highness Aisling Duval turns their back on a humanitarian effort, regardless of the benefactor.
We just spread our wings and fly.
