Greetings, space cowboys. It's been over a month I think since my last broadcast. Hard to tell out here when there are so many things that can compel one to stare at them like a deer in the headlights. Deer in the headlights...funny what phrases survive the times, even when they don't make sense anymore. Anyone that hits a deer in their personal vehicle these days, I think, would need to be investigated for latent homicidal tendencies seeing as how most personal vehicles fly. But anyway...broadcast...is this a broadcast? I mean you're probably reading this. I may resend these signals out with video and narration but right now my burst transmissions only contain text and photos. Maybe broadcast is still the proper term. Who cares? It's pretty cool out here and I don't just mean the temperature. Took a break from jumping and gave Draekul a rest. Something the crew thanked me for as rumors were spreading that the constant jumping I ordered was going to overload the engine and either kill us all or strand us. The captain promised me she'd handle the misinformation that probably started because of jokes from disgruntled engineering crew members but I could tell she was annoyed too, considering jumping the carrier required the most work and maintenance, which meant longer hours for her and the crew. But there was this nebula right at the door to the Vulcan sector that I really wanted to see.
Took the Draekoneasho out to investigate. As expected, most of the systems within the purple mist had already been discovered and mapped but that's not why I was there. Making cool pictures and having fun was.
Been receiving a few transmissions from the squad back in the bubble. Seems things might be heating up again. Strange occurences around the base and some of the factions are running into trouble. Looks like the start of another war from someone trying to move in on our turf. Made me consider rushing back to help but then I remembered the unique techniques we used in order to win the last conflict and smiled a bit on the inside. Whoever these guys are clearly don't know what they're getting in to. Lots of new recruits getting trained up as well. From what I hear the vets have things under control. On top of all that some old terrorist organizations and possibly the Thardgoids have begun attacking stations. Appears all of the bad stuff waited until I was far out of reach before poking out its ugly head. Oh well. Less stress for me. Instead I get to race with nebula and discover new worlds.
I wonder if humanity ever thought we would really be able to sit this close to the sun? To any sun?
To every sun.
This is, Commander Zamen Kensata of the fleet carrier, Draekul.
Signing off, for now.
