Commander Royte // Tenakee Springs // 3305-12-16 - Odin's Hold

17 Dec 2019Royte
Active Mission: Explore inner regions of the galaxy
Current location: Odin's Hold

Still on first trip to Sag A*.  When I was a new pilot I searched far and wide to see a black hole, today it's been nearly every-other jump, if it's not a black hole it's a Neutron Star.  Have to search carefully to find scoopable stars.  Still, each one is dangerous and equally fascinating.  Found a few geological signals.

The night was most memorable.  First system when I crossed from Norma Arm to Odin's Hold I immediately had a black hole and a neutron star closely orbiting each other, FSS scan revealed another neutron star and a white dwarf.  I was not necessarily surprised to find a couple gas giants, but the high metal and rocky bodies were unexpected.  A geological signal on top of that, and also looking for a place to call home for the night, it felt perfect... it did not disappoint either.  Landed by some Sulphur Dioxide Fumaroles... first time I've seen one of those.  After gazing down fir a bit I laid down and looked up... I could see the astrophysical jets from the neutron star.  I couldn't see it, but I was thankful to have the protective ship to call home as I can't imagine this would be peaceful system and as I drifted of to sleep I wondered if anyone ever had called this home.
