The Graveyard of Stars

Captain's log.Stardate May 4th, 3309.
Nebula NX-602.
Mare Somnia region started to show its real, gruesome face. Crusing at the same level of the galactic plane, this region was a pleasant view with long range jumps, lot of discoveries and very interesting systems. Everything changed when I decided to navigate directly to a B-Class undiscovered star, rated with a mass level of "E". The path was a slow descent to the region's rock bottom and, as all the descents, it was like going down to hell, passing through purgatory. It was interesting to see that the more the star distribution became thinner and thinner, the more star clusters started to appear. I might have just a couple of stars in a 20ly range, but every system started showing more than three or four stars together. Unfortunately, life here is very rare and I discovered just a handful of tiny water worlds and nothing else. Then, the last 8 jumps, were all dying stars: 7 continous jumps of Neutrons, DA and DC white dwarves. All these systems had a non scopable companion that survived somehow the giant collapse of the original star and a few planets that, surely, witnessed the destruction of their home system.
The Nebula was able to make it to the B-Class star and refuel her tanks once there. Now I realized that the Enterprise wouldn't make it without a neutron boost.
Oddly enough, all those dead stars were first discover, including the bright B one. Maybe not many other people wanted to hit the ground this gruesome but bright graveyard.
Well, once you hit the rock bottom there are just two things you can do: digging or crawling.
The Nebula, right now is crawling some 900ly to the top in order to reach again the galactic plane and ready to set course for Acheron region.
Who knows what is waiting for me.. but that is exactly what is exciting of exploration.
