A Throve of Discoveries in the Sagittarius-Carina Arm

09 Nov 2020Pisodeuorrior
I remembered the Sagittarius-Carina Arm, from my last expedition, as a region characterized by the huge amount of Stellar Anomalies, and this time around it was no different.

As soon as I crossed the border from Mare Somnia my scanner started to show at least one anomaly every jump or two.

Although the finds started to be more of the same after a while, I actually flew to each one of them because, you know, the one you skip might be that amazing thing you'll never see.

One of them was 300000 light seconds from my position. I went anyway.

So, here's a big bunch of stellar anomalies in no particular order. Also, they are all in my Codex but there's no way I'm putting a caption under all of them

On my route I stopped by the DSSA carrier HMRC Deep Thought. Since I was still full of fuel I didn't bother her commander. But I did stop for the obligatory shot.

Between one carrier and the next I made an unexpected number of planetary discoveries, mostly including Ammonia Worlds, Water Worlds and a few Earth-likes. Here's the one I liked the most.

Almost close to the border with Dryman's Point is deployed the DSSABlack Adder Port. This time I did hail Commander Dragotha, her owner, who generously made available all the left-over fuel he had available.

I feel like I should send each DSSA commander a gift basket or something like that, they really saved me weeks of shooting at asteroids.

Anyway, while crossing the Sagittarius-Carina Arm I also came across several binary systems. They're not amazing or rare, but I'm a sucker for them, so even if this is quite a picture-heavy log, here's my Wandering Star near a couple of them.

I've now already crossed into my favourite region in the whole Galaxy, Dryman's Point, where I got the help of a space-friend I didn't expect here. But it's stuff for the next log.
