Hawking's Gap

28 Jan 2023Pisodeuorrior
Ok, there are no other words to say this: crossing Hawking's Gap was awesome.

I've made more discoveries here than the rest of the journey put together.

Planets orbiting super close to each other, earth-like worlds, unusually bright neutron stars and an incredible amount of forms of life i had never seen before.
Sure, Hawking's Gap is vast, so statistically it's a lot more likely to come across interesting stuff here. But the Fomorian Frontier is as big, with a tenth of the discoveries.

I should have known this was going to be good when the first jump of the Wandering Star was like this:

First things first. In Hawking's Gap there are three DSSA Carriers.

The first one was the DSSA Cape Traverse.

The second one was the DSSA Ironside.

And the last one was the well known DSSA Kraut.

I flew part of my route well above the Galactic Plane, as far as 1000 light years, where Neutron Stars are more frequent.
I always like to come across them, for some reason, and in Hawking's Gap there seem to be some unusually bright ones.

As opposed to the rest of the journey, in this region I always discovered a huge number of Notable Stellar Phenomena.

As I said, I also discovered an embarrassing amount of Earth-like worlds. I can't show them all, I thing these two were the prettiest:

One of the nicest finds was this system of very closely orbiting bodies. THey were even closer than the two I found in Dryman's Point.

And now, the throng of exobiology discoveries I've made. A bit spammy, but some of them weren't seen before, so I need them here for the record!

All this resulted in an amount of profit I hadn't dreamed of when I departed.
I use to dock with the Wandering Star when she needs fuel, roughly every 5000 light years or so. That's when I upload the data and cash in.
This is the average for every upload:

So, I was already space-rich. Now with my 33bil Cr or so I think I can be defined as filthy space-rich.

I'm one jump from the border with the Inner Orion Spur. I can smell home, just 7000 light years away.
Do you like it?
