Thargoid Phantom

Last week I decided to downsize my fleet. I sold all my ships except for a Krait Phantom and Cobra Mk III. With fifteen or so heavily engineered ships at my disposal none felt special. I needed to have fewer ships with which I could identify and build rapport. The Krait Phantom has become my special ship no. 1. I have a flexible build with burst lasers, multi-cannons, decent shields, an SRV hangar and a big fuel scoop. It works great for combat and exploration.
Today it was time to try an alternate setup made for combat against Thargoid opponents. I went for almost all optional slots full of of engineered hull and module reinforcements, weapons were replaced with Guardian Gauss and shard cannons, and I got xeno scanner and shutdown field neutralizer utilities. I traveled to Celaeno for a test run.
So far the results have been great. The ship handles standard Thargoid combat with as much ease as my old Federal Assault Ship. I killed a couple of Cyclops-class interceptors and a couple dozen scouts without endangering my ship.
Now I'm off to my luxury quarters in Artemis Lodge where I shall spend the rest of the night with two local girls that I met at the bar a couple of hours ago. They told me they'd be waiting in my quarters to celebrate if I made it back alive. Saving humanity may not pay terribly well, but it does have its perks.
