We assembled at the edge of the no-fire-zone of Budrys. These times when the convoy collects in concentration is always a really interesting moment. Apart from the sheer spectacle they are also a chance to connect with other CMDRs in the fleet so we can track each other and keep each others spirits up. Forming a sense of camaraderie can be vital to the cohesion of the convoy and these jumps focus and reveal. First stop was the Asteroid Base, Sadr Logistics Depot, in a system just outside of the supergiant Sadr. I jumped into that system to have a look. Very impressive. Takes a long time to orbit.
These stations are very basic. Next to nothing in terms of commodities.
I'm doing a little bounty hunting in these systems to gain the trust and co-operation of the system authorities, to keep myself on my toes and also help offset the costs of transferring some of my other ships up the highway towards Colonia.
The second station, Elephant Trunk Mine, is in the GM Cephei system. I lost a few tons of cargo to hatchbreakers whilst in one of the resource extraction locations. I can spare a bit, nothing serious. But I think that's the end of that sort of amusement. The convoy mass jump from there attracted a bit of attention from some pirates and I joined in driving them off on a couple of occasions, but nothing serious.
These stations are the last outposts for quite a distance now, but the journey has been easy enough. Now we're breaking out into the wilds. I'm unlikely to see any other ships for a few thousand light years.
