From one DSSA ship to another...

20 Jul 2020Junagu
We arrived at Oob Aeb XI-X c28-0. DSSA #77 Skarapa Z32-H3Z is parked here. No sign of the captain though. The ship is obviously manned (I docked to check out the market) but a bustling hub of activity it is not. Our new travelling companion has anchored at Virph EC-M b7-0 for a while; I'm not sure why, so am about to jump over there. It's 11 stops in The Medicine Cabinet. I've just returned from jumping a few hundred Lyrs away from the plane, took about 15million in Xdata. I've decided to massively increase what I'm paying for Tritium. Whilst it's not exactly scarce it doesn't fly into my cargo hold all of its own accord either. Drips from the comms wire have indicated that there has been a lot of volitity in the market back in the Bubble - fewer cheap sources of Tiritium and LTDs falling. Ah, it seems like months ago, having to keep track of all that nonsense. We're on a different playing field now and it's proving to be quite slow going.

Such is life out on the fringes.

The crew have had a chance to look around and I've tracked their location sometimes - just over a 500Lyr radius seems to be the thing.
The mining has become more arduous still - maybe it's a barren patch we're in or something - but after a bit of concerted effort by some of the crew we've done what we needed to do and refueled the main tank.

Scouting around the area I plumbed for the first Tritium spot I found which was in Eorgh Hypoo NZ-F c27-0. A close orbitting moon around the GG with the Tritium HS also provided some landscape suitable for a bit of racing.
We took the opportunity to call our racing ships from the hold and met up in the canyons for some much needed r'n'r. The captain of The Hapax joined in, which has strengthened our trust in one another, I think. After we'd stowed our racing leathers and finished off the champaign he went ahead and scouted out our next path.

The next stretch is very long, with very few known POIs or anything else listed in the Galmap. I think the chances of us finding our own interesting systems is quite high, though, and the main thing will be to keep momentum going so that the journey doesn't become too languorous. We're heading towards DSSA #82 Leo's Vision KLB-44V in Hyueths HS-H d11-5. I've sent a wave to the captain and word that we'll be passing at some point.
