Rock Rat Carrier Sagittarius-Carina Route
19 Jul 2020Baroness Galaxy
"Preparation Day"7th of July 3306, starting docked at the DSSA Ironside in Hawkins Gap and planning to arrive at the DSSA Jolly Rogers in Acheron.
Jump routine: I will be plotting the route in realistic map mode with neutron jumps enabled. I check the nav panel and FSS on each system to spot interesting POIs. That includes phenomena both stellar as planetary. So yes, scanning a lot of bodies. I have time on my side on this one, no rush.
You can see the entire route here:
This route pays homage to the famous Carina-Saggitarius Expedition. I found their camp waypoints and forum thread https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/sagittarius-carina-mission-route-and-camps.241026/, so I'll pay my respect by revisiting the camps, exploring the area and taking a few notes in my logbook when I explored each camp and it's surroundings.
Last but not least, I'll be going in the RSS Pheidipides: a 30 LY mining python (https://s.orbis.zone/7rzo) so I can assist carriers, but it's also heavily armed, give protection when needed. All of which lowers the jump range enough so it gives an authentic feel of how the expedition felt in terms of jump effort.
That gives a rock rat a thing to do in between things, no pointless buckyballing from point CMDR Eisen to CMDR TwoFingers
