Distant Worlds Day 11 - journey to waypoint 5 part 1
30 Jan 2016Silverorrange
This has been an eventful week this week so im only just getting round to updating this log, we start where we left off ~3000Lys from waypoint 5....On day 11 I awoke to the sound of the main power supply booting back up, im still not sure how they did it but one of the occupants of the escape pods in the hold had escaped from his pod, hacked the lock on the cargo hatch and (after stealing a large portion of food and water from the kitchen) then proceeded to not only fix the main power supply but also improve it by 50%, it wasn't totally without its set backs but I will get into that later .
The man in question goes by the name of Jimmy Barnard, he is an engineer, one of the best in the galaxy he claims, I have had no reason to doubt that as of yet.
Lucky for him as he would have been flushed out the airlock for messing with my ship.
I asked what he was doing so far out of the bubble to be in a shipwreck, turn out he was the head engineer on an exploration ship called the Luna Moth (a rather aptly named ship considering I found its remains strewn all over a crater on a moon), I chuckled slightly at this, he didn't seem to see the funny side of it so I quickly tried to change the subject and asked how he had managed to fix the main power supply he then went in to deep tech babble which I only vaugly understood but it pretty much boiled down to turning it off and back on again, typical.
I gave him a quick summary of our current mission and was about to suggest that if he had a problem with that he will be going back in his escape pod and dropped of at the nearest planet when his eyes lit up and he asked "can I come along, pleeeeeeeeeease"
It looks like I have gained a new crew member so I left him to his work and pile of snacks and headed up to the cockpit to head off for today's leg of the journey.
When I got there I noticed that all the displays had strangely duplicated and offset from each other, eventually I realised they had been set to be 3D after a bit of shouting at Jimmy to fix it we eventually realised was the issue was and fixed it.
Unfortunatly all the introductions and fixing of issues took so long that we probably only made another 300 LYs before having to quit for the night and so landed in another crater in the shade of meteor that likely caused it.
