Home again.

Home again, we recently came back from the black after a long stint running missions for a less than reputable crew, but they paid well and the hours were ok. The crew got tired of the constant leaks about our hauls to theives and cops who would intercept us at a moments notice, often whilst we were having lunch. On my return I treated us to a new run around. Another ASP Explorer, "RoadRunner", and fitted her out with some new technology and in particular, a Size 5 A Class Fuel Scoop, mundane to some, but scooping at 1/2 a ton per second certainly has its perks in the racing game. The crew were pleased as James, my engineer gets pretty bad space sickness and he likes traveling with less jumps than usual. I got him some slippers and a mug for the good work out of Robigo. He deserves it.
Whilst I was gone, the Federation has fallen into chaos as Zachary Hudson and by the looks of things a lot of screwups in the accounting department. Impinged on all sides by better organised followers or just by shear luck, it has come the time to leave Federation space for pastures new. I never did like the look on his face in his picture anyway. I met him once, a touch arrogant.
Next week some new coms equipment and a modular captains chair is coming into the shop, it will be modified to fit our little fleet and with two sticks and a set of peddles, very comfy. James will have to move it from ship to ship, but I pay him well enough and he didnt even grumble when I told him about it.
So, I found a well organised bunch within the Empire, 9th Legion, and I hear the pay is better for Merc work down there, so the crew are very upbeat. Cassey, the flight officer, moaned about the amount of chart work involved in moving ships and home system, but I promised her it'd be for the best.
