Well, I made some calculations.Bounty hunting without a proper ship will not work as expected. I end up paying more in insurance than what I make and I cannot predict what I will make.
I'll have to resort to trading for the time being. Right now the priority is to improve the shield on the type 6 and move to a type 7 or 9 as soon as I can.
I still have to check how impactful needing a large landing pad will be on my trade routes.
I made some quick calculations:
Type 6 can carry 104 tons for 19 LY, costs 3.4 mils. Trade route sample profit: 912000
Type 7 can carry 216 tons for 17 LY, costs 25 mils. Trade route sample profit: 1895000
Type 9 can carry 468 tons for 13 LY, costs 101 mils. Trade route sample profit: 3450000
Even if the range decreases it should be fine, and the bigger versions can carry respectively twice and four times as much.
I verified how much this would impact my usual trading routes and well, not much.
Saving up 25 millions will take a bit, and I need to make sure I also save enough to actually fill the hold.
