Well, it took forever and a day, but we've finally reached it. After stopping by some material traders in local stations, I've made it back to Farseer's, and she has successfully boosted the Mobula's jump range to 30LY. We are finally ready to tackle the trip to Colonia!
And then we baked casserole and watched old reruns of Mythbusters. Felicity is absolutely amazing to hang out with! Gawd, I hope I end up like her when I get old.

Anyways, so we're pretty much set to go. After my COVAS Eden got herself an update to improve communication responses and personality development (so I don't go stir-crazy lacking someone to talk to), and with Farseer's upgrades to my ship's engines and scanners, there's not much left to do here besides embark on the trip. In the meantime, I've been researching the exact means by which I'll be travelling.
As it turns out, there has been some developments since the first explorers went to Jacque's Station in Colonia - not just in the region itself, mind you, but in the travelling to said region. They call it the "Colonia Connection Highway", a network of starports and outposts along the 22,000 light-year route from the Core Systems to the Colonia Region. It started with an independent group raising funds to build several resupply outposts, and then the creation of the Blue Star Line, which is a regular passenger service to and from Colonia including stops to 3 major starports and 3 orbital outposts, and now there's roughly 20-odd ports along the route.
Cmdr Nirakoji cautioned me with a particularly problematic hurdle to overcome. About 1,000 LY into the trip, there's a spread of T Tauri stars which can be a doozy to overcome. He wasn't sure how far exactly they stretched, or where any roundabout path to avoid them would be, but he did make mention to pay attention to where Eden says the next fuel star would be on the trip.
As such, I've decided to plan the trip in stages; I'll be aiming to reach the ports along the trail, and then taking regular breaks along the way as we venture forth. If all goes accordingly, the first leg of the trip should last about maybe a week's time, at the Mobula's current range.

...or at least, that's the plan for when I do leave.

See, during my stay in the California nebula, our little Order has grown in size, and several of the newcomers are wanting to meet up with me. I'm a bit shy, but Nirakoji says he's got something planned. He wants me to join him on a "group field trip" to the Western Veil, which is roughly a 1KLY trip from the Bubble. It'll not only be a good final test of Mobula's enhanced drives, but it'll also give us all time to connect and take pictures and hang out before my trip essentially carries us too far to interact regularly.

So that's probably what'll be on my to-do list soon, I'll keep this diary up to date with whatever happens. Here's hoping I don't flub meeting up with the others... ;m;
Do you like it?
