Checkpoint #3 reached
The past several days have been... somewhat hectic for me. I somehow got a kidney stone the day after last entry, which was not a fun experience; fortunately, I passed it that same night, although I'm having to cut back on my tea. I'm very grateful the docs retrofitted this ship with a decent medical bay, in case of... breakdowns...
... anyways, the expedition is also proceeding, albeit a bit quicker than I would've liked. I had just left for the 2nd checkpoint when we had already gotten the coords for the 3rd. And now that I've arrived there, we've been told that it's a pretty straight shot from here to the Veil, and then just race back home! I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm happy to be almost done with the trip, but... it just feels a little too rushed for me, ionno.
I suppose that's one benefit to the Colonia trek I'll undergo: no schedule to meet. I can just fly at my own pace.
In any case, I can't deny that I've seen some spectacular sights on this trip so far. Near the 2nd checkpoint, one of the pilots found this field of crystalline structures. They seem utterly unusual to me, as well as beautiful; normally crystals are formed during intense heat or pressure, so I can only guess how these massive formations came to beI'll be leaving for the veil soon... with the crystals fresh in my memories.
