Colonia Voyage, Day 19
Checkpoint 3 reached, Lagoon Nebula

Gawd, my back hurts... it’s been a long week of spaceflight, but we’ve finally reached the Lagoon Nebula, our third checkpoint on this massively long journey.  It doesn't feel like it, but we're almost a quarter the way there - 4,500LY from the Bubble!  I’ll be camping here for a couple days, while I rest and recuperate.  May do some local exploring, see if there are any Bark Mound sites in the Nebula here.

If I can say anything about the past week, it’s been surprisingly retrospective.  I’ve gotten comms from folks I’d never thought I’d hear from again; one of my old friends even surprised me by remotely buying me some pizza on Attenborough's Watch!  Among others, I got a surprise hello from Cmdr Dalvon; apparently, he thought I’d given up writing this journal since leaving the New Pilot’s Initiative.  I felt quite guilty over not reaching out sooner, but I made sure to link him to my journals here, and I'll be keeping him informed more often with my progress.

In addition, I’ve finally made communication with the Colonia Citizens Network!  They’re a mostly quiet, sometimes rowdy bunch, but very friendly and welcoming to newcomers.  I managed to sort out any issues I had incurred with the group prior to leaving, and we've slowly been educating me about my future in Colonia.  It appears that certain rumors I heard before may be true; A-rated parts in Colonia are a rarity, past a certain size.  It seems if I want to truly fully kit out any future ships like the Python, Krait, T-10 or others, I'll need to go on a shopping trip back to the Bubble to get the A-rated parts.
Although with Carrier ships coming in the future, we may not have to worry so much about that... it'll depend, we'll see.

After parking in the asteroid base, I gave my ship a lookover.  The journey’s starting to show its wear & tear on the paint job, the Imperial Insignia on our nose is starting to get rubbed off.  We’ll have to see if it lasts the journey... we won’t get to a decent shipyard to repair the paint for another 17,000 LY or so.

Do you like it?
