I parked at the Omega Mining Ops base, and wound up with a harrowing issue; the sink drain clogged up, and I was forced to call a plumber on site to clear the pipes and drain the water. Was rather expensive for me, but thankfully the ship is functional and there wasn’t much mess to clean up.
One thing’s for sure, though... no more draining burger grease down the sink.
Honestly, that is one thing that leaves me grateful for civilization: plumbing. Clean, fresh water flows to our homes, and waste water flows away from our homes. That’s not something I want to go away; if we never developed into a societal culture, we would’ve stayed with just using unclean standing water, or just... going wherever. Man, what a stinky mess that would be! Though come to think of it, not all cultures quickly adopted the Roman innovations of plumbing... heck, some places take forever to adopt new innovations. It took a long while for D.C. electric current to be accepted widespread after its discovery, and even longer for purely-electric surface vehicles, as well. It seems like most ideas take a while to become accepted, sometimes people are just too overly critical about something that helps.
Seriously, can ya imagine what it'd be like if Frame Shift Drive technology took so long to be accepted?
"Oh, what's that? We've discovered a way to travel to distant star systems in minutes, greatly expanding our capacity to travel and explore? Hmmmm, nah, I think I'll stick with basic bipropellant rockets, and reach the outside of the solar system by the time I'm 67!"
...what was I saying? Oh, right, my trip. So after the plumbing was fixed, I decided to start on my accelerated journey using the Mobula's full FSD capabilities. I'm already halfway to the next outpost, but I stopped by this fantastic ring system with - get this - floating space mollusks living in the rings! I was so tempted to scoop one up, but I didn't feel safe disturbing the little babies out there, so I instead took a couple pictures and went on my way. I'm sorely regretting not bringing a mining ship out here... void opals a plenty, and what a backdrop to go harvesting, eh?
Anyways, I should be arriving at my next pitstop soon, here's hoping I'll get to Colonia in good time...
