things surely have changed

23/01/3305-First log entry since i got my freedom 3 months ago. Who would have thought that working knee deep in algae was the perfect cover for an escape plan. I still can't believe that i managed to evade security, steal a sidewinder and make my way out of that hell hole ASYLUM in Tangaroa. Are my hands dirty? of course. did people get hurt? Only those that truly deserved it. They claimed that we could work for our freedom but to what price? I grew up as an imperial slave, for as long as i can remember, working, cleaning and abuse is what i knew. after a while, the reality kicks in and you wonder; Is that it? Am I only a tool? Am i even human to those who own me??? We are all rigged with two basic instincts; survival and the quest for knowledge. In my case, when your origins are as murky as the deep space, you either settle for your eventual demise or you fight back and grab what is rightfully yours. I heard the call of freedom and perhaps the black will be my final resting place. Who cares!!! better to die free than to continue living as a slave. things surely have changed since i stole that rusty sidewinder.
