Day 1 - Homeward bound
23 Jan 2017Juuba
While zig zagging in the Eta Carina nebula I noticed a cluster of stars. After a few jumps, they still loomed over there:
I started chasing them:
A while later - I decided to check how far from home I was:
That is the Bubble? Almost 9000 LY away!?!
Okay, it's a sign: I need to come home.
First stop, a Black hole 640 LY out: BLAE EORK CL-Y G2.
A few jumps in, found a blue pearl, or two. The other one is almost 240 000 Ls out. Should I go and investigate?
The closer one, 600 Ls out was a Water world.
This second one was an ELW. Nice.
Also:
There's now another cluster of stars visible. And it is not the bubble.
I'm going to try to find out what it is.
The star map is useless at this distance.
The Black hole is about 30 degrees off course. 250 LY or so. I think I'll check it out still. Keep an eye where this cluster is and head there next.
After taking a look at EDSM.net it appears they're the: NGC 3293 Open Star Cluster and Trumpler 16 Cluster.
I shall have to find out.
