Now a RANGER, DW2 and More!

Today was a rather productive day. Upgraded my FSD with Farseer. One more of her Rank 4 upgrade and she says she's got an even better setup for me. Can't wait!Refitted the Star Jumper III for mining then went to that system Erroch and I found. Checking my star charts shows that we were the first ones to actually surface scan that planet, and there rest in that system hadn't been hit with a DSS either! It was a bit painful with the wrong stuff on but not only did I DSS each planet and moon in Hydrae Sector ER-V b2-4 but also the Tauereket system! Two systems with MY NAME ON THEM!

It's like every Explorer's dream to get their name on the permanent record.
Turning in those cartography data boosted my exploration rank up to RANGER! So worth it!
About that time I received a galactic email from the Universal Cartographics with information about the Distant Worlds 2 expedition and calling for volunteers who would be interested. Put in a call to Erroch to see what he thought about it. I mean, it's exciting as everything! But... no stations.. no easy refueling, selling my data. If my ship get's blown up I'll lose it all. I've only just started getting my feet wet in the galaxy and now to commit to an approx 300 day venture to the other side of the galaxy is daunting.
But... they are going to build that station to monitor the galactic core. That's just something so epic. It would be a stepping stone for everyone.
It's worth the risk.
So Erroch and I decided to sign up and give it a go. As much as I'd love to bring my mining gear I don't think my FSD will be up to snuff for it. Maybe if I can get that rank 5 upgrade on it I'll be able to, but for now I'm just going to sign up as an explorer and maybe Astrophotographer.
