Heart & Soul

Commander's Log.Following a busy few days making cargo runs to ensure the bank balance was a little healthier, I found myself getting a call to explore the void.
I'm currently a few hundred light years from home - basically wherever I park my flagship Vendetta - and I've left behind the monotonous yet highly profitable distraction of running polymers in a Type 9.
After a day jumping further from The Bubble, I think it's fair to say that I had forgot how beautiful parts of the Milky Way can be. So far I've encountered crystals, geysers, more icy worlds than I can count and thanks to equipping a size 6 fuel scoop, I'm able to pilot the Shadow Dancing - my ASPX - as if it were a stone being skimmed across an ocean of stars. My destination? The Heart and Soul nebulae, some 150 jumps from the moon I am currently orbiting. There's a station there, which means I can trade in my exploration data and take a round trip back to The Bubble and hopefully find a few Earth like worlds or rare phenomena on the way back.
After that, who knows. The war with the Thargoids has been reduced to simmering skirmishes on the fringes of inhabited space and Galnet reports indicate that the new carrier class vessels are at least 6 months away due to ongoing issues with the manufacturing process. The implication for this is that for now, the squadron I fly with will have to continue to co-ordinate our efforts from various outposts rather than a central base, but that hasn't been a problem so far.
Finally, I've been making a few stops on metal rich worlds to top up my materials. It's an eerie experience driving the Scarab around often desolate landscapes. I can't shake the feeling that someone or something is watching me.
