From Heart Nebula to Formidine Exploration forward bases - Day 1

02 Feb 2021Jarsil
I left the Heart Nebula sector early in the morning of the planet I was landed on. The general idea was to make a fast journey to the general area in which the 4 Formidine Exodus mission bases where built. There's a very interesting story about those bases that I would like to listen to.
Obviously, not being in a real hurry, I didn't beeline directly to the first planet, and so I found lots of interesting stuff on my way.

Starting with those bark mounds that where littering the surface of this tiny rock:

As you can see, the system was still extremely close to the Nebula. Panorama was nice. I also filled up almost completely my raw material cargo. It's nice to know that I've plenty of FSD injectons if needed, and, moreover, I have plenty of mats to engineer this and my other ships easily.

Speaking of Injectons... another 214 LY jump thanks to a neutron star, today. It's always a thrill. FSD got a bit of punishment, but it's still well in the green zone, so no worries on this front. Besides, I've a full AFMU and repair limpets, so...

About repairing... it's about time I learn to avoid obstacles when not in supercruise. I literally rammed a satellite today when I arrived in the system of the first Formidine base.
Because I'm stupid, and boosted instead of braking. Bam. Head on collision. Fortunately, I had the shiels on at full capacity and didn't destroy myself.

After this little accident, all went well.

The planet is way out in the system, more than 100k ls from the main star, so it was a long, and frankly a bit boring, trip to arrive.

Also, I arrived at night, so no immediate exploration of the surroundings. Ship's sensors told me I could sleep soundly because literally nobody was out there.

I'll start exploring the camp first thing tomorrow, as soon as the "sun" appears.

This is the last picture I took before putting systems in stabdby:
