A Man Without A Plan

30 Jan 2019Maul Montresor
I arrived 2 days ago here at the station where Isaac Kiani appears to be living out his retirement. The information The Cartel gave me was actually solid. I had a little stake out near his apartment and watched him walk right out of his front door. It also appears he lives alone now. I guess the old bastard couldn't even keep his family together. I have no sympathy for the man though. I also don't plan to kill him either. I suppose I don't know exactly what to do. I really just need to confirm that he purposely set me up to kill that poor innocent man a year ago. I want this to go public and I want to him to rot in a detention center somewhere. A man like him doesn't deserve a swift death.

I suppose my best course of action would be to break into his home when he is gone and see if I can dig up anything. Perhaps I can blackmail him into admitting he set me up....

I don't know....

I've followed him enough to know he spends most of his time out drinking and yelling at others. I'm thinking while he is out I'm going to attempt to hack the key pad to his door and see if I can find anything I can use against him inside.

I'll update this log later if I find anything.

-----UPDATE-----

Fuck!....what the fuck!....

Is this recording yet?!

Okay, well, I....Damn it!!

I broke into Isaac's apartment and he was there on his couch with a fucking hole in his head. At first, I figured the old man did him self in just to escape his sins or something but there was no gun in his hand or anywhere in that apartment.

I was boiling with anger. I just stood there looking at his corpse thinking how I'd never be able to clear my name now that he was dead. But all of that ended abruptly when I heard what sounded like security forces rushing the building. There I was standing there in front of a dead man and I had a firearm. If I was caught in this room I'd be blamed for this. I quickly ran out of his apartment only to be met by the suspiciously quick response team. I turned and ran the opposite direction towards the stairs and made my way to the next floor down. To my surprise, there was even more security on that floor. We locked eyes and without hesitation I ran towards the first open apartment I seen and slammed the door shut behind me. A small old woman lived there. I begged her to be quiet and to not open the door or give anyone the code to access it. For some reason, she smiled and nodded in agreement. My lucky day I guess? Anyway, this bought me a few minutes while they tried to get access. Thank fuck for electric locks and key-code security systems. I was desperately trying to figure out what I could do when I noticed I was only on the 2nd floor of the building and decided my best chance to escape would be out the window. So, in the heat of the moment, I jumped.

The next hour or so was a blur. I had to duck in and out of local establishments to avoid security and threaten a few people at gunpoint but I made it back to my ship. I also busted my ankle pretty bad from the fall. The adrenaline must have helped push me forward to the docking bay. I'm lucky to be alive I suppose.

But now that I'm wanted for another murder and a multitude of other things at this point, my face will be plastered everywhere in that system and neighboring systems. I'm wanted and on the run again.

But....

Why the fuck was security so heavy in that building and who killed Isaac?....Did they know I would be there? What the fuck is even going on anymore?

I'm going to find a system a few more jumps out to stop in and get some rest.

I need a plan.
