At the Galaxy's End
13 May 2021Titus A. Cromwell
Landed. 16,227.66 LY's away from Cubeo. Set down on a moon of the first planet of the first star in a three star system. Left Imperial Space 13 19:54 April 3307. Explored the Orion and Running Man Nebulas and cleared the Thargoid pickets in that region. Rambled through the Flame Nebula and Barnards Loop.
Came out the back side of Barnards Loop to discover pilots need an unknown permit to enter the Horsehead Dark Region. Circled around the Horsehead Nebula and outward I explored.
Traversed to Perseus Arm, crossed the Formidine Rift and felt my way across the Poseidal Wall until I found a star bridge to get me across. Then traversed the 4,500 LYs across the Outer Arm Vacuus.
Exited the far side of the Outer Arm yesterday and made my way to the last system on this side of the galaxy. Going to prospect for a few raw materials and explore the system. Then I will leave the galaxy and see how far I can get before my endurance forces me to turn around and come back.
Looking over the Henry that's showing a little wear.
P.S. While on and off ED for several years since I joined in 2015 I learned a great deal this expedition. Probably more than any other expedition I have been through. I have a great appreciation for explorers before me and, while I never needed them, for dedicated groups like the Fuel Rats. Elite has a great community with a rich history and lore. You can have life memorable moments playing a game in VR. Does that make VR your reality? My ten year old daughter, who wrote Elon Musk and told him she wants to be the first human on Mars, joined me part of the way on this trip. My exploration isn't a great as some but more than most. It has been so far the most rewarding expedition for me to date.
