It only took me a day to get to the SCG Kearsarge. My friend Michael meet me at the hanger bay. It seems all is forgiven and I can take up my old position in the galley as chief cook and bottle washer.
The sign over the hatch still says “Art's High G Galley”. That was a reference to a slow hard landing approach to a planet that had considerable G. The repairs set me back some. Although now that I think of it the G may actually stand for Gastronomic distress.
The cook always gets the blame when things go wrong in the galley. It was only a small percentage of the crew that got sick. The problem was my cat's fault. She got to messing around one of the bio tanks and that is when the hairball happened.
Anyway, it is good to be back on board the Kearsarge. This starship is actually named for a US Navy vessel from the mid 20th Century Earth. An aircraft Carrier. Seems a fitting name for a space craft carrier as well.
