I am on my way out of the depths of financial despondency. Today I drop off my first load of metal that I have carved out of a few uninspiring rocks orbiting around an equally uninspiring gas giant.
When I arrived at the SCG Kearsarge a few days ago I did not know what I was getting into. It seems that a group of fleet carriers organized by one Commander JBShadow are attempting to create a mini bubble of humanity near the galactic core. Actually, they have a pretty good start on it. This growing bubble is known as the Azura Initiative. The operation is sanctioned by the Stellar Cartographer's Guild. [SCG]
CMDR Shadow is a respected member of the SCG. I on the other hand am not as respected within said organization. If you recall, about the only benefit I received from my association with Ellen and her backers was that they caught me up on my guild dues. And, I assume that is why the Star of Azura is going to accept my request for docking.
The Initiative has several fleet carrier rolls. Stations, Outposts, Transports, and Fuel tankers. The Azura is the capital ship in the Initiative home system. A couple of days ago I heard talk of forming a militia to ward off would be pirates. Starting to sound civilized.
After this I am going to go back to the Kearsarge and park my Python and go exploring for a bit. These guys are very interested in finding potential colony planets within 250 Ly of the Azura.
