Time, speed and distance. The basic formula that travelers have used down through the ages. It's no different with our modern space craft. (Author's note: I have not found time dilation to be a thing in Elite Dangerous so far.)
My primary goal with the SCG Frank Tallman was to have a good looking spacecraft that would appeal to the masses living out their ordinary lives in the bubble of humanity. There by making me a pot load of credits. I have yet to achieve that goal. But I do now have a very cool Imperial Clipper.
My ship has been heavily redesigned, and in effect I have become a test pilot. These past few days since I left the bubble I have been reviewing the flight data recorder logs. I also have been digging into my Anaconda's records as well. Making comparisons.
With that in mind I decided to do a “speed run” in order to see if my Clipper can move around the galaxy at a similar rate as the Anaconda. I know it does not seem to make sense that a Clipper with a jump range of 48 light years can keep up with an Anaconda's range of 62 Ly's. I have to say that the Clipper is a whole lot more fun to fly. I shall post my initial results here and continue to gather data as time goes buy. Shorter jump range may be as efficient time wise when you are trying to get somewhere. That is if you can fuel scoop and maneuver faster than the bigger spacecraft.
