I woke up this morning on a moon with a water based atmosphere. Not too far from the Heart and Soul Nebula's. About 7500 Lys from the bubble. There was something nagging at the back of my mind. The whole idea behind having the Clipper was that it was going to be a good looking camera ship. I was going to take documentary crews around the galaxy. I couldn't get anyone interested in granting me a contract so I struck off on my own going to do some filming myself. Then selling the vids when I got back from my trip out of human space.

The Clipper is a good looking ship. That is true. It is fun to fly, I can scoop fast and maneuver quick. I do not think the Phantom could do as well, but it can come close. Then I remembered, My Phantom has an extra fuel tank and that gives it a 64 ton capacity. That is a lot of range. I would not have to scoop nearly as often.

The problem is that when I engineered my Phantom my thoughts were going towards the max jump range I could get. Everything was D rated. I did get about a 70 light year jump range when the mass was low. I just did not want to go through a lot more engineering to get it to the same performance goals that I have with the Clipper.

The cat chose that time to jump up on my lap interfering with my tablet and my third bulb of coffee. So I began to pet and scratch the poor dominating thing. My mind wandered. Even if I could somehow make the Phantom look as good as the Clipper, I would still have to reengineer the power plant, power distributor, and the thrusters.

Wait, I moved the cat and picked up the tablet and began comparing the Clipper and Phantom modules. They are compatible. I could strip the modules out of the Clipper and install them in the Phantom. I would not have to visit one engineer.

Its only 7500 Lys to back to the bubble. I just have to find a way to make the old Phantom look pretty.
