It has been a couple of days since my last entry. I am currently in the Luyten system. I forget the numbers that follow the name, and I can't be bothered to check the system computer. I just know that I am currently docked at the H. G. Wells station in the system.
I spent the most of the day before yesterday assisting in the evacuation efforts of the Levi-Civita station. I was exhausted after several hours of ferrying the survivors of the Thargoid attack. These bugs, they're relentless. I wish there was something I could do about it, but I am not much of a combat pilot. So perhaps I just stick to assisting in recovery efforts and leave the Xeno hunting to the professionals. Either that, or just jump into the black and forget about it. That seems the simpler solution, but I don't know if I could do that. The people I saved, the looks on their faces, the terror in their eyes. I could not help but feel for them.
Anyway, I decided to get away from that for a while. I saved over 300 people.
Yesterday I decided to travel to the Sol System. Home of humanity. It was nice to see a place in the Galaxy that is relatively untouched by the Thargoid problem. However, there is civil unrest there, so I didn't stick around. I need to become a little more solvent, credit wise, so I decided to switch back to an old pastime of mine, mining. I've made some decent money, maybe I will buy a better exploration ship and jump into the unknown, distract myself from the problems here in the bubble. Or maybe I will just get the nerve and buy a better combat ship and take the fight to the bugs.
