It has been several months since I last recorded a log. I have just recovered from an accident that occurred in February. I decided to take the fight to the bugs, but my combat inexperience proved nearly fatal to me. I was making some headway fighting off wave after wave of Thargoid scouts, until and interceptor showed up and shorted out my power plant. I couldn't deploy my countermeasures in time and became a sitting duck. Once things powered back up, the acid damage from the exploding scouts was ripping through my hull. I tried to limp back to a station, but my ship ended up disintegrating before entering supercruise.
I bailed and fortunately S&R found my lifepod adrift amongst the wreckage. I have been in intensive care since then. Now that I am awake, I think I want to head back into the black again. This past experience has taught me that perhaps I am not the able combat pilot I thought.
I got an insurance payout, gonna use that to outfit an Anaconda for deep space exploration. I heard that the Distant Worlds 2 Expedition made it to Beagle Point. I think I might make the pilgrimage there. I have never been to the galactic core, perhaps the journey will take my mind off the events of the past several months.
