Crab Nebula to Trifid of the North. That was one long leg. 4600+Lys. The first half, I was scanning and exploring every system, and it was taking waaay toooo long. So, a change of tactics. Scan, jump scan jump, a then about every 10 jumps, stop and check out the system.
After one hell of a leg on day 19, I finally arrive close to the Waypoint, within 100 Lys. Unfortunately, I cannot find a route into the nebula. Systems too far apart. On day 20, I spend a few hours searching the surrounding systems, looking for a way in. Chatting to a few commanders with similar problems, and chatting in discord, I eventually find a CMDR who is close by and is willing to help out.
CMDR Lyrael Sol , you are a hero. He managed to find a route for me, although it was stretching it. One jump I had to virtually empty my tank before I could stretch my jump range to 26.25Lys to cover the 26.09Ly jump. Then, I had to use one of my jumponium jumps to cover the next jump of nearly 29Lys. After that, it was plain sailing all the way to the waypoint.
Is this the best system they could find for the meetup? A long time in super cruise then a landing site that wasn't the flattest I've ever come across. Also, there was some question of the co-ordinates being correct, as I'm sure they had been changed at some point.
But, as of right now, I'm sat at the co-ordinates, ready to continue. Although, I might go for a little drive around before setting off.
On a sad note, my condolences to CMDR Tuzo, who was behind me, and who lost his ship during a rest period. That's got to hurt. It would really dishearten me if I had a similar occurrence.

That's what I love about explorers. You can bump into a complete stranger, and within minutes, you are friends for life.
